Reitan wins Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final – Golf News
Kristoffer Reitan held on to win the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final and secure promotion to the DP World Tour, while Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen topped the Road to Mallorca Rankings.
Norwegian Reitan carded a closing 68 to get to 23-under-par for the week and win by one from Dane Neergaard-Petersen and Spaniard Angel Ayora at Club de Golf Alcanada.
Reitan earned his first Challenge Tour title and became the second Norwegian winner of the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final after Espen Kofstad in 2012.
The 26-year-old climbs 29 places in the Road to Mallorca Rankings to finish the season in seventh place and secure his place on the DP World Tour in 2025.
QUICK START
Reitan started the final day three shots off the lead but went for eagle-birdie on his opening two holes to join Neergaard-Petersen at the top.
Despite dropping shots on the fourth and 10th, Reitan, who was four shots behind Neergaard-Petersen at the top, birdied 11, 13 and 15 to stay in contention and put the clubhouse lead at 23 under.
Meanwhile, Neergaard-Petersen made a second-under par to move ahead in the conference, but three-shotted his closing seven holes, including 4 of 18, dropping him to second place alongside Ayora.
Reitan will return to the DP World Tour for the first time in six years as he previously earned the rights to play through the 2018 Qualifying School.
Neergaard-Petersen secured automatic promotion to the DP World Tour by securing his third win of the season in September and ends the week as Road to Mallorca no.1 after enjoying a sensational first season on the Challenge Tour.
