Russell Westbrook’s Wife Applauds ESPN Commentator Back
Before the NBA season starts, Russell Westbrook has become the subject of criticism and his wife Nina is not having it.
Too bad, it didn’t come from an NBA analyst.
The diss came when ESPN’s Ryan Clark compared Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson to Westbrook.
“Lamar Jackson right now is like Russell Westbrook,” he told ESPN data Stand up. “We watch Russell Westbrook throughout the regular season (even in the playoffs) have these great stat games… But you remember when he and Dame Lillard got together, and it was emotional. He couldn’t shoot.”
Westbrook’s wife, Nina, commented on ESPN’s post — including a quote from it.
“Oh my God! As a basketball fan, we couldn’t even wait for the NBA season to start before the Russell slander started? 1. This makes no sense. 2. The only comparison to be made between Russell and Lamar is that they are both unicorns and amazing at what they do. 3. I’ve never met Ryan, and I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but please stop 4. Finally… before you start hating on Russell, at least let the basketball season start and let him miss the meet or something. I’m still enjoying the peace and quiet.
Russ also shared his response on his personal Instagram story.
In an attempt to cool things down, Clark responded to Nina’s comment on IG.
“@ninawestbrook I meant no disrespect at all. I can go down and fight for Russia. You are one of those for me!”
Westbrook will join a new NBA team in 2024-25 – the Nuggets – who are still looking for that championship ring.
Russ can prove the doubters wrong and be a key player for the 2023 champions.
