Unfortunately, Pant did not time the shot, which resulted in a high score which was easily collected by wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock. With this, Pant was dismissed without contributing to India’s charge, leaving the team in a precarious position at the start of the match.

Fans and cricket lovers expressed frustration and disappointment with Pant’s careless ball selection, with many questioning his judgment in attempting such a dangerous shot at the spinner at the start of his innings. Others lamented his lack of knowledge of the game and the potential impact of his undoing on India’s chances in the finals.

Virat Kohli leads the recovery as India post a competitive total
After Pant’s dismissal for a duck, India struggled early on but recovered. Kohli capped the innings with a 76 off 59 balls, guiding India into the middle overs. Axar Patel he played a crucial knock of 47 off 31 balls, stabilizing the innings and providing momentum with a strike rate of 151.61. Shivam Dube he scored a quickfire 27 off 16 balls, including three boundaries and a six, which increased India’s total. Hardik Pandya he added a brisk 5 not out in just 2 balls in the final over. Despite losing wickets at a crucial time, India managed to amass a total of 176/7 in 20 overs, showing a combination of strong partnerships and an aggressive batting line-up.
