Saudi Pro League wants Vini Jr., not Mbappe
Kylian Mbappe has been nominated by the Saudi Pro League and he politely turned them down, choosing to join the giants of the Spanish league, Real Madrid.
It is believed that the Saudis had offered the French to transport a large sum of money to the Emirates, the likes of which had never been seen before.
They didn’t, as we know now, fail, proving without a doubt that money can’t always buy you everything you want.
Vini Jr and not Mbappe can be the ambassador of the Saudi Pro League
Now, however, it is understood that the denial did not stop the Saudis from targeting another Los Blancos star.
According to ESPN, the Saudis have approached Vini Jr’s representatives with an offer of around €350m per season and, importantly, the player has apparently not rejected this approach.
Apparently, Real Madrid will not want one of their best players to leave and as the report says, they will need to pay his full release clause of 1 billion euros.
For almost every club or league in the world that would be a price so far above the odds that it would be completely ridiculous, but no one would be surprised in the least if the Saudis came up with the money.
It is understood that they want Vini Jr to be a 2034 World Cup player, and that could be one thing that tips the scales in Saudi’s favour.
Given that Real now have Mbappe in place alongside the likes of Jude Bellingham and others, a billion euros on top of that would ensure the club can buy whoever they want, keeping them at the top domestically and in Europe.
Neymar’s deal with Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona is the current world record of €222 million per goal, but this potential deal could blow that out of the water.
