Serbia has come close to gold, finishing second in various international competitions, including the 2016 Olympics and the 2023 FIBA World Cup. But in 2024, they finally got a big win, defeating world champions Germany 93-83 to claim their first bronze medal as Serbia.
Despite being worried after the heartbreaking loss to the US and being tipped off at 11:00 AM, Serbia responded well. Nikola Jokic led the way with three goals, while Bogdan Bogdanovic and Vasilije Micic provided important goals.
