Gill, who is preparing for the series against Sri Lanka, expressed his excitement about working under Gambhir’s guidance. Reflecting on their first collaboration, Gill commented, “We have had just two practice sessions with Gautam Gambhir so far. This is my first experience working with him, but his communication was extremely clear from the start. He has a good understanding of what he expects from each player and has a strategic vision to use our strengths.“

The vice-captain also touched upon the partnership of the new T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, and Gambhir also spoke of their common sense. He said, “There is a strong alignment in thinking and mind of Suryakumar Yadav and Gautam Gambhir. Having played under Surya bhai in South Africa, I can attest to their similar approach and understanding of the game. This combination will definitely reflect our performance on the field.“
