Sinner and Alcaraz in the Same Half

Carlos Alcaraz again Jannik Sinner drawn in the same part of the Wimbledon men’s singles draw, while Novak Djokovic it is in the lower part.

All was revealed on Friday morning at the All England Club as the field of 128 players was announced for this year’s tournament.

In an interesting twist, Sinner was drawn to face former Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini in the second round. Berrettini will face Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics in his first match, while top seed Sinner will face Germany’s Yannik Hanfmann.

Third-seeded Alcaraz, the defending champion, will begin the defense of his Wimbledon title against Estonian Mark Lajal. Alcaraz is expected to face Sebastian Ofner or Aleksandar Vukic in the second round, and could face Matteo Arnaldi or Frances Tiafoe in the third round.

Alcaraz and Sinner could meet in the semifinals – the Italian met at Wimbledon in 2022, beating Alcaraz in the round of 16. semifinalist at Roland-Garros this year.

Seven-time Wimbledon champion Djokovic will face Czech Republic’s Vit Kopriva in the first round.

The 37-year-old could face 30th seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the third round and 15th seed Holger Rune or 21st seed Karen Khachanov in the round of 16.

If Djokovic, who had surgery to repair the meniscus in his right knee on June 5, makes the quarterfinals, his likely opponent is 7th-seeded Hubert Hurkacz of Poland.
