6 Royal Liverpool
Royal Liverpool is a difficult links course with little protection from the wind, and nothing is being done about the structure.

Royal Liverpool is a sports lover’s course in its purest form and comes in as the sixth most Instagrammed course.
5 Royal Birkdale
Royal Birkdale is a popular links course and is widely recognized for its fair and rewarding consistency.
If you don’t stray too often from the fairway, you’ll probably have a great time playing Royal Birkdale.
Royal Birkdale was the last English course to be added to the Open rotation but has hosted the Major ten times as recently as 2017 when Jordan Spieth claimed the Claret Jug.
4 St George’s Hill
Among the several heatland courses on the Surrey/Berkshire sand belt, St George’s Hill Golf Club is undoubtedly among the most picturesque.
The landscape is the most obvious contrast between the heathland buildings of the district and St George’s Hill.

The few trees present do little to protect the player from the wind, except for the occasional cluster of pines and silver beeches in the bright, windy landscape.
2 Woodhall Spa
The Hotchkin course at Woodhall Spa is set to rival Loch Lomond and Sunningdale’s Old course for the title of best inland golf course in the British Isles.
This heatland course, surrounded by beautiful pine, birch, and broom, is a real joy to play. Walking on the springy turf is a real pleasure, and the sandy bottom makes golf possible all year round.
Try your best to avoid the gorse, heather, and bunkers while keeping the ball in play and on the fairway.
1 Sunningdale
According to the data, Sunningdale at Ascot is the most Instagrammed course, boasting 68,569 hashtags for the course name alone, as well as 3,588 hashtags for the course name + golf club and 147 hashtags for the course name combined with ‘golf course’ , amounting to 72,304. hashtags.
The old and new courses at Sunningdale are going strong and both are ranked among the best English courses.
Lined with pine, birch and oak trees, it’s a great golf course and makes for a great Instagram photo.
