Sun Will Point To LeBron James To Create ‘Historic Superteam’
The Suns are one of the only NBA teams that Bronny James will deal with, but it appears that Phoenix has much bigger plans involving LeBron James.
Speculation about LeBron coming to Phoenix began late last week, when NBA analyst Shams Charania reported that the Suns would work out Bronny before the draft.
“The Phoenix Suns will work out Bronny James before the June NBA Draft, sources say,” Charania told X. “Phoenix has the 22nd pick and is among several players being considered. Bronny has more than 10 workout invitations but is expected to visit only a few teams, including the Lakers and Suns.”
Now, NBA reporter Evan Sidery has added more fuel to the fire after reporting that the Suns are officially considering signing Bronny in hopes that the franchise can re-sign LeBron in the process.
“The Suns are hoping to pursue LeBron James this offseason, which is why Bronny James is the most serious pick at No. 22 overall to take,” Sidery told X.
“Phoenix seems to believe that they can convince LeBron to team up with Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal to form a historic team.”
“LeBron will be giving up about $50 million next season, if he were to officially consider joining the Suns on a veteran’s minimum contract.
“Could the Suns draft LeBron and Bronny as their big plan? That seems to be on the table.”
After getting blown out in the first round of the playoffs, it’s clear that Phoenix needs a new game plan.
It’s hard to see LeBron taking a big payday to play with his son, but until he retires from the Lakers this summer, it might be off the table.
