It was caused by a flood of emotions Iga Swiatek broke down in tears after her Roland Garros victory over Naomi Osaka’s comeback.
World No. 1 Swiatek defiantly held on to deny a match point in a 7-6(1), 1-6, 7-5, second-round victory over his fellow four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka in Court Philippe Chatrier.

Then, as Swiatek was doing his post-match warm-up routine in the gym, Roland Garros cameras caught a loud bang as Swiatek started to cry.

The three-time Roland Garros champion said afterwards that the relief from his big escape led to an emotional release.
“Maybe I was complaining about the cameras in the gym,” said Swiatek. “Well, I’m just overwhelmed with emotions, I was telling myself that I will leave this competition.
“Even though I felt something on the court, it was like a beating after that. I was happy that I won, but I felt like I was really on the edge. So, yeah, I just cried.”
There is no time to cry today as Swiatek is wrinkled Marie Bouzkova 6-4, 6-2 to earn his 17th consecutive Roland Garros victory and reach the fourth round of the French Open for the sixth year in a row.
