Gill’s later selection as a tour venue for the T20 World Cup led to Srikkant criticizing the BCCI for the perceived selection.

“Shubman Gill is in perfect form, but why is he being picked in the team? Shubman Gill is the selectors’ delight. He gets a chance even if he fails. He gets a place even if he fails in Tests, ODIs and T20s. There are so many choices. Party selection is about bias,” said Srikkanth on his YouTube channel.

Meanwhile, Srikkanth encouraged the selection of Gaikwad in the T20 World Cup Squad.

“There is no doubt that Ruturaj Gaikwad deserves the place. He scored more than 500 runs in 17 T20I innings. He also scored a century against Australia,” he added.

Special IPL performances by Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj made his debut for CSK in the IPL 2020 season, playing in just six matches but leaving a huge impact. In the 2021 season, he won the coveted orange trophy and retained it this season too, scoring 509 runs in 10 matches.
