T20 World Cup 2024 [WATCH]: Andre Russell hit South Africa twice by removing Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks in the same over

South Africa delivered bowling efficiency, restricting The West Indies at a modest total of 135/8 after electing to bowl first in the final T20 World Cup 2024 Super-Eight match at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. However, South Africa’s run-jase faced the brunt of being beaten twice Andre Russell struck twice in the second over, dismissing both openers in quick succession.

Andre Russell’s two strikes fuel South Africa’s chase

Quinton de Kock, thinking the length was ripe for his trademark takedown, attacked it but didn’t think about jumping a little more. The ball was big for him, and he bowled it straight to Rutherford at backward square leg. De Kock’s dismissal for 12 runs in 7 balls left South Africa reeling in the chase.

After De Kock’s dismissal, heavy rain stopped the match suddenly. The rain started when South Africa found themselves in trouble on 15/2, leaving both teams waiting for a weather break to resume play.

West Indies’ batting collapse
