T20 World Cup: Here’s how Pakistan can make it to the Super 8 stage even if they lose to India

The much awaited match of the T20 World Cup is on India again Pakistan It became a regular affair, with the Men in Blue winning by 6 runs.

Pakistan’s bowlers took the game away early, restricting India to a paltry 119 in their 20 overs. Rishabh Pant’s knock of 42 runs was the only bright spot for India, as the rest of the batsmen failed in the face of the Pakistani bowling attack. Haris Rauf and And Seem Shah impressed, taking three wickets apiece, while Mohammad Amir chipped in with two wickets.

Chasing a narrow goal, Pakistan got off to a good start but lost their captain Babar Azam early on. This heartbreaking loss for Pakistan not only extends their dismal T20 World Cup record against India to 1-7 but also seriously dims their chances of reaching the Super 8 stage of the tournament.

T20 World Cup Super 8 Qualification Scenario for Pakistan

Pakistan currently have 0 points after two matches, which jeopardizes their chances of qualifying. The team, led by Babar, must win their remaining matches Canada again Ireland while they hope that the United States of America (USA) or Canada will no longer win games.

Even if Pakistan wins both these matches and USA loses their remaining two matches, advancing to the Super 8 stage will depend on Net Run Rate (NRR). If both the teams are tied with 4 points after 4 matches, Pakistan will need good results to progress.
