T20 World Cup semi-final: India vs England, Afghanistan vs South Africa

The first semi-final between South Africa and Afghanistan will kick off at 8.30pm local time on Wednesday, June 26, at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba. The second semi-final between India and England will be played at 10.30 am on Thursday, June 27 (local time) at Guyana’s Providence Stadium.
However, the playing conditions in the semi-finals are different. The second semi-final, between India and England, will not have a final day due to the one-day gap between that match and the final.
However, a total of 250 minutes of extra time is available in each semi final. The first semi-final will have an extra 60 minutes at the end of the day’s play and another 190 minutes on the reserve day, starting at 2pm local time. The second semi-final will have all 250 minutes on the scheduled day as it has no set date.
Additionally, for a match to be considered complete in the semi-finals and final, both teams must bowl at least 10 overs per innings, as opposed to five overs per innings in the entire tournament. This could be significant as rain is forecast for both venues, and the playing conditions are that if there is a breeze, the team that will finish at the top of their Super Eight groups (India and South Africa, in this case) will continue. In the event that the final is called off due to inclement weather, the two finalists will be declared joint winners.
