Electing to bowl first in the first T20I of the three-match series, India could not contain the South African batting. Tazmin Brits top score with 81 runs from 56 balls, including 10 fours and 3 sixes. Marizanne Kapp (57 runs) and Laura Wolvaardt (33 runs) provided vital support at the top, propelling South Africa to a formidable total of 189/4 in 20 overs.

Pooja Vastrakar (2 wickets for 23 runs) was the pick of the Indian bowlers, during Radha Yadav scored 40 runs to get two scalps.

Jemimah Rodrigues’ unbeaten knock ended in vain
