The analyst says Irons is overpaid for Fullkrug
West Ham United have done good business in the summer transfer market, with technical director, Tim Steidten, working his contact book very well.
The German seemed to stay out of the headlines as big names walked through the doors of the London Stadium.
For a team that has struggled to bring in new players over the past 12 months, until the end of the campaign, it has been a fruitful few months.
West Ham overpaid Fullkrug says Bundesliga analyst
Steidten may have bitten off more than he could chew.
Niclas Fullkrug, for example, has yet to set the Premier League ablaze, with Julen Lopetegui preferring to stick with Michail Antonio up front.
Now, ESPN pundit Derek Rae has suggested that the Hammers’ management have been robbed by their Dortmund counterparts.
“Yes they may have paid more,” Rae told Hammers Chat.
“In Germany there is a price, then there is the price of the Premier League.
“At 31 years old, Dortmund would be happy with that money, without a doubt. And Fullkrug didn’t feel appreciated there.
“Dortmund didn’t have a great season last season, so it felt like the right move to let Fullkrug go.”
