The conditions that Barcelona must meet in order to re-sign Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix

Barcelona will only be able to re-sign loan stars Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix for the 2024/25 season on similar short-term deals, a report has claimed.
Portuguese striker Felix switched from Atletico Madrid to Barca in the summer of 2023 along with his national team-mate Cancelo, who joined on loan from Manchester City. The pair quickly established themselves at Barca, playing in La Liga and the Champions League.
Barca have confirmed reports that they intend to keep both Portuguese players after their loan spells and now may have the means to do so, but only if all the clubs involved agree to similar deals to those struck last year.
As per Mundo Deportivo, Barca will seek another loan for both players without the obligation to buy permanently. They will discard the obligation clause as they don’t want to be forced to buy any player.
The Catalan club’s lack of funds heading into the summer transfer window makes the prospect of signing new players very difficult without parting with some of the top earners.
Barca are reportedly open to selling most of their first-team players apart from young stars such as Pedri, Gavi and Lamine Yamal – talents they hope can restore glory to the club in the future – to raise funds this summer.
Both Felix and Cancelo have admitted that they do not want to return to their previous clubs, seeing the arrival of new manager Hansi Flick as an exciting opportunity for Barca.
Reports say Cancelo is highly regarded as Barca’s leader, having made a huge impression during his time at the club. Although Felix will be given a new chance even though he has a contract with Atletico until 2029, it is Barca where he believes he can develop best.
