The director of Bayern Munich confirms the decision on the sale of Kingsley Coman

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed that Kingsley Coman will not be leaving the club this summer.

The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona were linked with Coman before the transfer window closed, while clubs from Saudi Arabia, where the window is still open, are known to be interested in the Frenchman.

Despite increasing competition minutes after Michael Olise’s arrival, Coman has reportedly confirmed his desire to stay at Bayern shortly before the Bundesliga window closes on Friday.

“The king lives with us,” Eberl said Sunday. “It’s good to have an international break right after the transfer window. It’s good to build a squad.

“You talk about a lot of things, what can happen. Planning a team is a puzzle for people with emotions. It’s like an orchestra. You build a team with which you try to achieve your goals.”

Facing an uncertain future at Bayern is veteran striker Thomas Muller. The 34-year-old has yet to start a Bundesliga game under new manager Vincent Kompany but came off the bench to score in a 2-0 win over Freiburg.

“Only the body ages,” says Muller. “I’m fighting that.

“I feel good physically. Likewise, there is no need for an end for me. Let’s take it easy. It’s not about me personally, it’s not about any contract periods. It’s easy.

“I’m just trying to show the coach that I can also start the team. We are at the beginning of the season, I have a contract for it.”
