The professional tour sees a huge difference in putters with the exception of one model currently being used by more than three players.

However, certain heavyweights command more respect for vegetables than others.

Here we run down the five most popular types of putters on the PGA Tour.

5 LAB Golf

An increasing number of players are turning to the LAB Golf Putter on the greens eight professionals have one in their bags.

LAB Golf MEZZ.1 Max is the most popular putter model on the PGA Tour with three players using the club.

LAB Golf’s stated goal is to show golfers that they are better putters than they think. “They need better science on their side.”

4 TaylorMade

There are currently 15 PGA Tour pros using 13 different models of TaylorMade putters, most of which are variants of their popular Spider Tour putters.

World No.1 Scottie Scheffler uses the TaylorMade Spider Tour X, while Rory McIlroy uses the TaylorMade Spider Tour X3.

Scheffler said of the rod: “This Spider rig is really easy for me to line up.

“There is no need for me to use a line in football. I’m putting the putter really well, and I’m walking down the middle of the face, and that’s very easy. It gives me a really good impression. “

3 PING

There are 23 PGA Tour players currently sporting 22 different models of PING Putters in their bag.

All tour pros who win a tournament with a PING putter receive a gold-plated replica of their putter and another is added to the legendary company’s vault.

They have three players using the PING PLD Prototype putter giving them a tie for the most used model on Tour.

Titleist’s Scotty Cameron putter brand has given them a large market share when it comes to selecting the best putters.

They make a bewildering array of putters available to professionals including prototypes that have never been released to the mass market.

Scotty Cameron’s precision-crafted, hand-finished putters are trusted by the game’s top players and are valued for their performance as much as their beauty.

1 Odyssey

No putter brand has the reach when it comes to professional play like Callaway’s Odyssey, but they have Toulon Designs to thank for that.

Callaway found the up-and-coming brand in 2016 and helped elevate them to the title of producing the world’s best putters.

Sean Toulon has always paid tribute to the pioneering work of Odyssey and Callaway as golf brands and putter manufacturers.

“We are very excited to join Callaway and Odyssey,” said Toulon.

“We have been inspired by the establishment of these two beautiful brands for a long time. But what may be even more impressive is the engagement of these great brands with golfers.

“We have always believed that a deep connection with the game and those who love it is the key to creating world-class products and things that golfers love.

“We feel like we’ve found the perfect home and look forward to creating great products for passionate golfers for years to come.”
