The Man United star said that there are only three games left in top-level football
After Crystal Palace beat Manchester United 4-0 on Monday night, Casemiro was told he only had three games left in top-flight football.
Erik ten Hag’s side, who lost 4-0 against Palace, employed the Brazilian midfielder as an emergency defender against the Eagles.
The midfielder was exposed by the Palace attackers who were excited to play against the Real Madrid midfielder.
Casemiro moved from Real Madrid to Man United in 2022, but this season his form has dropped significantly.
Michael Olise’s clever maneuvering in defense kept him from waiting for Palace’s opening goal as Oliver Glasner’s men edged past the Red Devils.
Football analyst Jamie Carragher criticized Casemiro’s performance and told the player that he does not have enough time in senior football.
Speaking on Monday Night Football, Carragher said, as reported by The Mirror:
“Casemiro should know today as an experienced player that he has only three games left at the top level – the next two league games and the cup final – and then he goes to MLS or Saudi.
“I am very determined – his agent, the team of people around him, they have to tell him: this has to stop. We look at the stars of today, playing among the best midfielders we have ever seen dominating Europe – with himself, Kroos and Modric by his side.
“I am not even close to what this person has achieved, winning the Champions League, playing for Brazil and Real Madrid. But I always remember something when I retire, there is a saying that I always remember: Leave the ball, before the ball leaves you. Football has left him at this high level. He must call it a day and move.”
Carragher has urged Real Madrid’s five-time Champions League winner Casemiro to leave European football this summer, even though his contract at Old Trafford expires in June 2026.
Man United suffered throughout this season as the Red Devils failed to find consistent form.
Injuries to key players have not helped them but made it worse with their ample resources and players available to them.
The Palace defeat puts the Man United manager under pressure
The Palace defeat was another reminder to the ten-year-old Hag that his job at the club is not safe and he should be.
Only a win in the FA Cup final can salvage something from a disastrous season for Man United.
However, their city rivals Manchester City and Pep Guardiola stand in their way of achieving that.
