The manager of RB Leipzig sends a warning to Barcelona regarding the offer of Dani Olmo

RB Leipzig manager Marco Rose has warned Barcelona that they must improve their quality a donation if they want to convince the club to part with midfielder Dani Olmo.

Although personal terms have reportedly already been agreed between Barcelona and Olmo, there is still a lot of work to be done on the transfer fee. Barca are said to have sent an offer worth 61 million euros but with a payment arrangement that left Leipzig unhappy.

In response to Barcelona’s request, Rose told the media: “The player has value. He has benefited from us. He has developed in a smart way. Everyone knows what Dani Olmo can do. Likewise, everyone must be clear about his value and under what conditions. The club may be willing to talk.

“I think it is also important for Dani to be shown his worth and to be able. And the club that wants him absolutely must do justice to the value of Dani Olmo.”

Olmo’s Leipzig contract includes a €60 million release clause that expired last month. While Barcelona are happy to pay that kind of money, the Catalan giants are trying to work out a deal that will allow them to reach that price for many years, while Leipzig are looking for a big money very quickly.

Leipzig sporting director Rouven Schroder has also warned Barcelona to pay if they really want to sign Olmo.

“Dani is of incredible value to us – as a player and as a person.” he said. “We are under no pressure to sell him.

“As things stand today, we expect Dani to return to us after his Euro break. Everything else remains to be seen.”

Rose has publicly confirmed his desire to keep Olmo already this summer, with Leipzig chief executive Johann Plenge previously vowing not to sell any player “for less than he deserves”.
