The PGA Championship is over, and now the PGA Tour season resumes at the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial, where we select the player who competed at Valhalla as our long shot. Here are our long picks, the Charles Schwab Challenge, betting favorites and everything else you need to know.
Charles Schwab Challenge odds: A long bet
For this week’s event at Colonial, we pick Taylor Moore at +6600 odds-to-win as our long shot. Here is the reason.
Moore won the PGA Tour, winning at the Valspar Championship last season. This year, he has had one top-10 finish so far, but that was as a runner-up at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.
And he looked great in the majors in 2024. At the Masters, he earned a T20, and last week at the PGA Championship at Valhalla, he fought back to win, finishing T12.
Another strong week on the biggest stage could give him the necessary boost to win No. 2 this week.
If you bet $10 for Moore to win and win, you will win $660. For insurance, consider placing an extra small bet on Moore to finish in the top 10 and top 20.
Looking for a long bet for the Charles Schwab Challenge? This week’s honorees are Thomas Detry (+5000) and Billy Horschel (+5500).
Charles Schwab Challenge odds: Favorites
It’s hard to believe after his incredible week at the PGA, but Scottie Scheffler is on the field at Colonial, and he’s already the prohibitive favorite with +275 odds to win.
Collin Morikawa, who finished T4 at the PGA Championship, comes in a distant second with +1400 odds to win. Max Homa (+2000) fills out the top 3 in the eyes of dissenters.
