Theo Hernandez scored as France beat Portugal 5-3 on penalties in the quarter finals of Euro 2024.
In a tight match there was no difference between the two teams, the quarter final match was decided by penalties.
Portugal needed penalties to go through in the previous round against Slovenia and Diogo Costa was the hero, but this time the goalkeeper was unable to save a single penalty.
There were some good penalties, but Joao Felix ended up costing Portugal as his effort hit Hernandez and he was tasked with taking the winning penalty.
Under a lot of pressure Hernandez calmly stepped forward and slotted his effort into the top corner with Costa taking the wrong way to set up the semi-final against Spain.
France did not play well in this competition, but they have found themselves in the last stage of the competition with a good chance to win the whole competition.
