The Netherlands version of Cody Gakpo seems to be more successful than the Liverpool version of Cody Gakpo.

After the 2023/24 campaign with the Reds, Gakpo looked like a completely different player to his international squad at Euro 2024, showing clinical presence in front of goal in all phases of the team.

Liverpool fans will be hoping he can bring this form back to club level in 2024/25.

A lot was expected of Arda Guler ahead of Euro 2024 and, so far, it’s fair to say he’s coming.

Quite simply, Italy would be on their way home with their tails between their legs if it weren’t for Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Despite the struggles with PSG, the towering goalkeeper has returned to his best form with Italy this summer.

His 11 saves in three group stage matches are the sole reason for his national team’s progress in the tournament.

His ability to win the ball, hold the ball, create opportunities for his teammates, and test goalkeepers with ferocious long-range efforts on goal was a sight to behold.
