Tottenham are looking to add a big-name striker after signing Dominic Solanke

Tottenham completed the signing of striker Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth last week.

The striker was in high demand at Tottenham Stadium after Harry Kane left the club last summer.

They played last season without a natural number nine with Son Heung-min and Richarlison leading their attack.

However, with Solanke at the club now, Spurs have a solid striker in the squad who has shown his ferocity in front of goal on a regular basis.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham are keen to add Lille striker Jonathan David to their squad.

Since Richarlison’s future at the club has not been clarified, it is reported that Spurs have identified David as a possible replacement for the Brazilian.

David’s good form at Lille has attracted the attention of Manchester United, Chelsea and West Ham United.

The Canadian, who represented his country in the Copa America this summer, scored 26 goals last season in all competitions.

The striker has entered the final year of his contract with the club and Lille are ready to accept a £25 million discount for him.

Jonathan David went to Tottenham?

At that price, someone like David would be a great signing for any club.

He could provide competition for Solanke and give Spurs another attacking outlet.

If Richarlison leaves the club this summer, replacing him would be crucial for Ange Postecoglou.

This Brazilian player scored the most important goals last season for Lillywhites and his numbers will have to be changed.

Richarlison could leave Tottenham to move to the Middle East

Richarlison has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia and his future is currently unclear.

Apart from Solanke, Spurs strengthened their midfield by signing Archie Gray from Leeds United while also giving Postecoglou some depth in attack by signing Timo Werner on loan again.

Postecoglou will be hoping to take his side to the Champions League by finishing in the top four of the Premier League.
