Tottenham Hotspur are expected to make a bid for OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo; Manchester United are also interested in the Frenchman for an estimated €40m

OGC Nice is undergoing significant changes this summer as it prepares for the upcoming season. The departure of important people from the team points to a time of change that can change the future of the team on and off the field.

The exodus began with the departure of sporting director Florent Ghisolfi, who has now been confirmed to join AS Roma. Ghisolfi’s departure marks a huge loss for Nice, as his strategic vision and player acquisitions have contributed to the club’s recent success. His expertise will now benefit the Serie A side, leaving a gap in Nice’s management system that will be a challenge to fill.

Another thing that hurts this team, coach Francesco Farioli has finished running at Ajax. Farioli’s stay at Nice saw the team develop a dynamic and attractive style of play, which was crucial in qualifying for the UEFA Europa League.

The chaos extends to the playing squad, where defender Jean-Clair Todibo is the most outstanding player linked away from the club. The 24-year-old French international has attracted a lot of interest from Europe’s biggest clubs, particularly Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, and Spurs are expected to renew their efforts to sign him this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur will face Manchester United, Juventus and AC Milan through Jean-Clair Todibo

Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Todibo dates back to January when Nice slapped a cheap €60 million tag on the defender to thwart suitors, effectively keeping him for the remainder of the season. Todibo’s performances were crucial in securing Nice’s return to the European competition, but with a revised fee of around 40 million euros, the club appear ready to part with their defender, according to Nice-matin.

Juventus and AC Milan are reported to be monitoring Todibo’s situation.

Manchester United, in particular, are in dire need of strengthening their defensive options following a difficult season at the back. With Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire linked with possible exits and Jonny Evans out of contract, United could find themselves in the market for more defenders. Todibo’s mix of youth, experience, and quality make him an attractive signing for the Red Devils.
