In a happy meeting at T20 World Cup 2024, South Africa won against Bangladesh in a highly watched match, winning by a narrow margin of 4 runs at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Heinrich Klaasen‘s gritty innings again Keshav Maharaj’a clinical bowling performance played a major role in South Africa’s victory. Despite Bangladesh facing a fighting challenge, South Africa held their own to register a crucial win and earn the prize of being the first team to book a place in the Super 8s.

Bangladesh bowlers have done a decent job, with Tanzim Hasan Sakib lending the attack with three crucial wickets. Work and Rishad Hossain provided significant success, while Mustafizur Rahman again Shakib Al Hasan contains the flow of successfully running. Despite the poor resistance of South Africa, Bangladesh scored a limited total, keeping their hopes alive with a successful chase.

Towhid Hridoy’s heroic effort ends

Chasing a target of 114 runs, Bangladesh got off to a poor start, losing early wickets. Tanzid Hasan again Najmul Hossain Shanto struggled to counter the South African attack with proper bowling. Litton Das and Shakib failed to capitalize on their start, leaving Bangladesh in a precarious situation at 37/4. Keshav Maharaj and Kagiso Rabada are the best

The South African bowlers played well to defend their value, with Maharaj once Kagiso Rabada leading with three wickets each. Anrich Nortje provided important achievements, during Ottneil Baartman again Marco Jansen kept the pressure on the Bangladeshi batsmen. Despite a strong effort from a lowly Bangladesh team, South Africa held on in the final overs to secure a hard-fought victory.
