Twitter reaction: Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Rizwan guide Pakistan to comfortable win over Canada in 2024 T20 World Cup
In the 22nd game of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, Pakistan face each other Canada at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan, who won the toss, elected to bowl first and showed excellent performance with the ball and bat, securing a comprehensive victory by 7 wickets.
Canada struggles with the bat
Canada’s innings started shakily and lacked momentum, ending up at 106 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. An outstanding performance ensued Aaron Johnson, who fought brilliantly and scored 52 off 44 balls, hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes. However, he received little support from his colleagues.
Navneet Dhaliwal (4 out of 7), Pargat Singh (2 of 6), and Nicholas Kirton (1 of 6) all went down cheaply. Shreyas Movva again Ravinderpal Singh struggled again, scoring 2 and 0 respectively. Saad Bin Zafar treated the patient 10 off 21, while Kaleem Sana (13 off 14) and Dillon Heyliger (9 for 11) added some runs towards the end but not enough to mount a serious challenge.
Pakistan’s bowling dominance
Pakistan’s bowlers were on point from the start, with Mohammad Amir leading the charge. Amir’s impressive figures of 2 for 13 in his 4 overs earned him the man of the match award. Harris Rauf he also picked up two wickets, conceding 26 runs in his 4 overs. Shaheen Afridi (1 in 21) and And Seem Shah (1 in 24) with key wickets, while Imad Wasim he bowled economically, conceding just 19 runs in his 4 overs. A good bowling effort from Pakistan restricted Canada to a limited total, setting a manageable target for the batsmen.

A consistent chase by Pakistan
In reply, Pakistan chased down the target of 107 with ease, reaching 109 for 3 in 17.3 overs. Mohammad Rizwan he capped the innings with an unbeaten 53 off 53 balls, including 2 fours and 1 six. Babar Azam provided solid support, scoring 33 from 33 balls. Despite a few hiccups with the dismissal of Saim Ayub (6 out of 12), Fakhar Zaman (4 of 6), again Usman Khan (2 in 1), Pakistan’s experienced calling system has ensured that there are no major alarms. Rizwan’s strong hand guided Pakistan home to a comfortable win.
Canada’s effort with football
Canadian skiers tried their best to protect the low price. Heyliger was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2 for 18 in his 4 overs, giving his team some hope. Jeremy Gordon he also bowled well, taking 1 for 17 in his 3.3 overs. However, the lack of wickets from other bowlers and poor targeting proved too much for them to defend. Sana, Bin Zafar, and Junaid Siddiqui they couldn’t make any significant breakthroughs, allowing Pakistan to chase down the target with a few overs to spare.

One of the real OGs of Pakistani cricket. Always step up in ICC events or high pressure games. One of the best skiers we’ve ever produced. He built his career on action. Not based on PR and hype from paid agencies. A real legend Mohammed Amir🫡🙏 #PAKvCAN pic.twitter.com/fGT38be2az
