After electing to bat first, New Zealand posted a modest total of 128/9 in 20 overs. Carson’s performance was crucial to New Zealand’s victory. He bowled well under pressure, breaking key partnerships and limiting West Indies’ scoring chances. His three-wicket haul, combined with Kerr’s saving spell, played a major role in protecting New Zealand’s small total and guiding them to a hard-fought 8-run victory.
