UNC Greensboro’s Caleb Cozart Joins The Schoch Factor Podcast • D1Baseball

The Schoch Factor

On this episode of The Schoch Factor Podcast, we’re joined by one of the hardest working men in college baseball, UNC Greensboro two-time star Caleb Cozart.

I say this for many reasons. He pitches and hits – in fact he is now the holder of UNCG’s single-season home run record after his second full hitting season at the college level. And in the NIL world, where we see some players getting paid just to be themselves, Caleb is out here doing 8-12 demolition jobs every weekday. He did this while still a freshman and college baseball player, which is incredibly impressive and difficult to do. I remember when I worked at State Farm in the off season. It was exhausting, and all I had to do in practice was throw 15 bullpen. This young man comes out here and does it and practices full time.

Besides, Caleb had what I would describe as one of the rockier college baseball experiences, from blowing out his elbow 12 times his freshman fall, to finding out he had a brain tumor a few months later. You might think he had a hard time finding his way in college, but to say this guy had a lot on his plate is a huge understatement. Through it all, however, the motivation is that Caleb never used this misfortune as an excuse or ever had a very long pity party. He might say he did a little, but looking at his timeline, this warrants at least a year or two of discomfort, and Caleb took a week to get back to putting his head down and getting back to work.

I don’t usually speak with certainty or exaggeration, but I can say with certainty after listening to this episode, you will want to live a little like Caleb!
