Victor Osimhen’s agent labels latest Chelsea rumors “fake news”

Napoli’s agent, Victor Osimhen, has dismissed rumors that the striker could be loaned out this season as false news as the Nigerian star continues to be linked with PSG and Chelsea.

The 25-year-old looks set to leave Naples before the current transfer window closes having spent the last four years in Italy.

Osimhen has been a key player for Napoli in all 133 games he has played in, scoring 76 goals along with 18 assists. The striker’s 26 Serie A goals in the 2022/23 campaign fired the Naples-based club to the Italian league title and it is this season that has laid the foundation for interest in the player this summer.

The Nigerian international has a release clause of £113m in his current contract and that seems to be too much for those involved.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Napoli are looking for solutions for Osimhen as they want to bring Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku to the position as soon as possible.

The striker has already said yes to PSG’s move, but it remains to be seen if the same is true for Chelsea. The transfer reporter says that Napoli could also be open to including Osimhen as part of the Lukaku deal, which would be an easy way to solve the problem.

The thing that will not happen is the loan of a 25-year-old child.

Chelsea and PSG still want to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen

Victor Osimhen’s agent is not happy with the loan rumours

Reports emerged this week that Osimhen could join Chelsea as part of an initial loan deal but this has been played down by the striker’s agent Roberto Calenda.

“I read about the ‘bad exchange’ with Victor… like he’s a package that needs to be delivered quickly,” Calenda said via Fabrizio Romano. “This package is the top scorer of the third Scudetto in the history of Napoli.

“Respect and stop fake news!”.

The battle for Osimhen is starting to heat up but Chelsea may have an advantage over everyone else as the Blues can play the Romelu Lukaku card to help Napoli part with their star.
