Victor Wembanyama has the most popular PSA baseball pitcher this season

Topps sold 48,654 copies of the 2023 Topps Now card #472 of Wembanyama first base, and it was the most popular pitcher card produced by PSA so far this season. PSA received 1,600 copies of that Wembanyama card, while MLB players have more grading cards. Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers ranks first as the player with the most total cards issued with 56,500, while Elly De La Cruz of the Cincinnati Reds is second with 26,700 cards issued. Skenes marked the pot with the most cards placed at 9,000. Last month, Topps released a Wembanyama autograph “First Pitch” card in the 2024 Topps Series 2.

I asked Sidy Cissoko if he would give the 20 pounds he said he was brought down to Wemby. He replied: “Nah, he’s getting stronger… He looks like he’s growing too, one day he looks like he’s 7-3, 7-4, and the next day, he’s like 7-5. So we’re still trying to figure it out.” – 4:56 PM

Sidy Cissoko says Wemby is still strong and again, he always looks like he’s growing: “He looks like he’s still growing, one day he looks like he’s 7’3″, 7’4″, and the next day, he’s like 7’5”, so we are still trying to find out.” – 3:06 PM

I am concerned about Lauri Markkanen’s outlook at Spurs.
The fit with Wemby, Markkanen, Castle and Vassell as a core is flawless. That group would rule.
But man, I was so attached to their idea of doing it right, never going in, and always choosing to repurchase. – 5:00 p.m

Both teams should still be very bad, but the Pistons adding Tobias and the Wizards adding Valanciunas should lift them up a bit.
San Antonio should also take a step forward with Wemby’s second year and the addition of CP3.
Good development for the Nets tank prospects. – 10:33 AM

More on this story

When Victor Wembanyama threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Yankee Stadium last summer, no one expected the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft to make a baseball program. But he has done it, albeit in a non-traditional way. Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) has created All-Star fantasy team rosters based on the best and most popular baseball cards from each position through the 2024 season to date. The National League and American League fantasy team rosters are filled with MLB stars you’d expect to see like Bryce Harper, Mookie Betts, Aaron Judge and Mike Trout, but there’s a surprising player on the AL team: Black. -via The New York Times / July 4, 2024

Playing against Turkey, preparing for the Eurobasket qualifiers, France had a great first game before the Olympics, winning 96-46. With 16 players still available, the French team introduced for the first time the long-awaited duo of Rudy Gobert-Victor Wembanyama, who dominated the game. -via EuroHoops.net / July 3, 2024
