Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) delivered a stellar performance in IPL 2024 last night, they secured their spot in the playoffs with an 18-run victory Mumbai Indians (MI). As the final whistle blew, the Bollywood fraternity joined the celebration, like the stars Ananya Panday, Suhana Khan again Juhi Chawla expressing their joy over KKR’s victory.

KKR: First team to qualify for IPL 2024 playoffs

The match, which was held at the Eden Gardens stadium, saw a fierce competition between two of the strongest teams in the IPL. KKR, led by Shreyas Iyerthey showed remarkable resilience as they secured a total of 157 runs against a formidable MI line-up.

KKR’s innings was strengthened by Venkatesh Iyerwho contributed the crucial 42 runs, supported by Nitish Rana‘s solid 33. Despite the bowling efforts of Jasprit Bumrah again Piyush Chawlawho got two wickets each against MI, KKR managed to put together a competitive total.

In response, MI fought back valiantly, with Ishan Kishan top score with 40 runs and Tilak Varma add 32 runs. However, the KKR bowlers, led by Varun Chakraborty‘s statistics are impressive 2-17, too Sunil NarineA saving spell, restricted MI to 139/8 in their allotted 16 overs.

As the match ended, KKR became the first team to book a place in the IPL 2024 playoffs.
