England Test captain Ben Stokes suffered a hamstring injury while playing for Northern Supercharger in The Hundred 2024 on Sunday, August 11.
Ben Stokes was forced to leave the field
The all-rounder was forced off the field after catching his leg while completing one after playing a shot against the Manchester Originals’ pacer. Ollie Robinson.
Stokes was taken to the hospital for further evaluation. To the fans’ delight, he returned to the field an hour later, even though he was walking on crutches. The England star was seen shaking hands with the opposing teams and even signed autographs for the fans.

Despite losing their talisman, the Superchargers managed to secure a seven-wicket win over Manchester Originals thanks to an innings from Nicholas Pooran, Harry Brook again Adam Hose.
“It doesn’t look good unfortunately, I will be tested tomorrow and see how it is,” Brook said about Stokes’ injury in the post-match presentation.

Stokes ruled out The Hundred 2024
Stokes was expected to feature in all four Northern Supercharger group games A hundredwith the possibility of further involvement in the knock-out rounds.
Stokes faced just one ball in his first game, and was dismissed Tim Southee. He managed to score two runs in a rain-affected game in Cardiff but has now been ruled out of the final group game against London Spirit due to his injury.
The extent of Stokes’ injury is still unclear, but the incident has cast a shadow over his England captaincy for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka.
