Dravid shows off with a historic win

Dravid, reflecting on Team India’s victory, described it as the culmination of a two-year journey. Emphasizing the process of team building and skill development since taking over in 2021, Dravid highlighted that victory represents more than just winning one tournament. It symbolized the growth, resilience, and effort of the team during a critical period. Dravid’s sentiments underscored the depth of emotional investment he and the players had in achieving success on the world stage.

“This was a 2-year journey, this T20 World Cup. The formation of this team and the type of skills we were looking for, the players we were looking for. The talks started when I started in 2021 and this is not a mission to win the World Cup as it sounds like a 2-year journey,” Dravid said after the match.

Gratitude for Training Success

Expressing gratitude for winning the ICC trophy as a head coach, Dravid admitted that although he did not achieve success as a player, coaching this team to victory was very satisfying. He thanked the players for their dedication and hard work, stressing that their efforts made success possible.

“I, as a player, was not lucky enough to win the cup but I gave everything and was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to coach the team, I was lucky that this group of boys made me able to win this cup. It’s a great feeling, it’s not like I was aiming for any redemption, it was a job I was doing and it’s been a great journey,” Dravid said
