WATCH: Mitchell Santner hits mammoth 106-metre six in SFU vs TSK match at MLC 2024

In a league match between The San Francisco Unicorns as well as Texas Super Kings in 2024 Major League cricket tournament, Mitchell Santner he made the game-winning play, which included a 106-yard six-yarder that sealed the victory for his team.

The game, played in Church Street Park in Morrisville, saw the Texas Super Kings chasing a challenging target of 128 runs set by the San Francisco Unicorns. With the game hanging in favor of Texas, Santner stepped up to the crease in the 12th over, his side needing 10 runs in 8.1 overs to secure a win.

As tensions rose, Santner faced a delivery from San Francisco Hassan Khan. What followed was a moment of pure brilliance. Santner got under the tossed delivery outside the off stump and unleashed a big shot that went high and long, clearing the boundary with a huge edge. The ball traveled 106 meters, leaving the crowd in awe and the San Francisco players in disbelief.

“Santner’s six was the turning point of the game,” said the captain of the Super Kings from TexasFaf du Plessis. Faf also added in the post-match presentation that the experienced player is an asset to his team, and he expects the same from him every time he steps out.

The one-sided affair between the San Francisco Unicorns and the Texas Super Kings also proved Santner’s usefulness in T20 cricket, where the batsman’s brilliance with the bat and the ball can change the course of a game.
