The slogan, which translates to “Put Dabur oil, take Babar’s wicket,” became popular among Indian fans who used it to mock Babar. Pant, with a laugh, said that such narratives make games fun, but acknowledged the hard work of every player in his country.

“Sir, what I want to say is that as a player if we see only as a player, they (Pakistani cricketers) have worked hard for their country. And it’s not, there’s always sarcasm. But there is something very interesting in this, all the feelings come together like the country of India, or like the country of Pakistan. And as our followers start a new narrative, as you say, “Tel Lagao Dabar Ka, Wicket Girao Babar ka”. All these things make cricket fun, I think,” Pant said.
