Short-lived promises and initial success

Pant’s innings of the match got off to a flying start, showing his intent with a stylish cover for four off Avesh. However, his promising start was fleeting as he was dismissed just after 10 deliveries. The match was notable for marking Pant’s return to red-ball cricket for the first time since December 2022. Earlier in the day, India B opened the batting. Yashasvi Jaiswal he made a sustained contribution of 30 runs off 59 balls before Khaleel was dismissed. In the same innings, skipper Easwaran was out for 13, falling prey to a delivery from Avesh.

Avesh Khan and Akash Deep rule

The middle order struggled as Sarfaraz Khan again Musheer Khan tried to stabilize the innings with a partnership of 14 runs. However, Avesh struck again, removing Sarfaraz. Akash Deep emerged as a key player for India A, claiming key wickets, including Pant and Nitish Reddyin successive deliveries. Nitish’s dismissal was particularly notable, with Akash Deep delivering a superb delivery that brought down the stumps. At Tea, India B are reeling at 124/7 after 54 overs, with overs Navdeep Saini and Musheer trying to concentrate the innings.
