Do you struggle to get up and down green areas?

When your ball is on the edge it can be frustrating to know which club to take.

Because lofted swings are always dangerous for the average golfer.

And Sir Nick Faldo thinks there’s a much easier way to save par (or bogey).

“So if you want to take one shot off your card,” he asks in the video, “chop old school with your 8-iron a little bit.

“Because it’s good, especially if you lie a little on the side of the green and the ball lands a little.”

The six-time major tournament winner takes a closer look at the 8-iron.

“You’ve got this nice little place here,” he said and explained how to get the gun.

“I used to raise my hands,” he says. “The weight is here (on the front foot) and the ball comes off the right toe and I will hit it off the toe (of the team).

“Because that will take the ball out of those little lies, you see.”

He shows a stroke.

“It’s just like the putting stroke, the brushing stroke and (the area) on the edge of the green.

“See – it’s going, look at that.

“That will take more than one shot out of the round,” he concluded.
