WATCH: Top pros share their golf dreams and nightmares – have you had them?

Have you ever dreamed of golfing? Or, to be more specific about it, a golf nightmare?
The irony is that many golfers have these dreams – and that they are very similar in tone, nature and content.
The two most common ones go like this.
In the first the golfer finds himself unable to hit his next shot.
There may be a tree behind the ball or it may be a tee shot and the billboard is not behind the tee, but behind the golfer.
The irony is that this dream sounds like something a golf handicap might suffer from, but surely not the stars?
But they do. 1996 Open champion Tom Lehman has had one.
In his version an overhanging branch of a pine tree prevents him from making a retreat.
What about European legend Nick Faldo? Yes, he had it too. So is five-time Open champion Tom Watson. “I get punched and I have no place to swing,” he reported. “Something vague is squeezing me – a gallery maybe, or wires, or something I can’t identify.”
There is more. Aussie Stuart Appleby even had this dream when he was fighting for the Masters. “The boys said: ‘Come on, hit it’,” he said. “And I keep saying, ‘I can’t, I can’t.'”

The man who revived the Ryder Cup, Tony Jacklin, can dream that he is playing down the small corridor of the hotel “he has to find the condition of the fairway”, there is no space to swing, the walls are out of bounds.
Another common fantasy is that Watson suffered a lot – he wore what was a lumpy green so that any missed putt would go off the green and away.
In this video posted a few years ago by the Legends Tour, Gordon Brand, Carl Suneson and Barry Lane talk about their dreams.
Brand’s actually combines both dreams: he begins by suffering from limitations and then faces a green made of marble that is impossible to hold.
Suneson laughs because he has been there too.
But Lane is a bit confused – he can’t remember his dreams.
Unfortunately, since this video was made two of the stars of the European Ryder Cup have passed away, but this video is a great reminder of the fun nature of Brand and Lane – and why the golf world still misses them.
