WATCH: Virat Kohli breaks Chepauk wall with powerful six in Bangladesh Tests practice session

Indian cricket star Virat Kohli smashed through a wall at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai during a warm-up session ahead of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The incident happened on Sunday (September 15) when Kohli was preparing for his first Test match since January, following a break to welcome the birth of his second child.

Powerful hit by Virat Kohli against the spinner

Kohli, who has been in incredible form, has been seen at the nets putting up strong yards, showing a flurry of shots that have left the spectators in awe. However, it was a certain six that sent waves through the field, as the ball traveled so powerfully that it smashed through the wall near the Indian dressing room. A video of the incident, shared by Jio Cinema, went viral, capturing the moment when Kohli’s powerful shot made contact with the wall, leaving fans and teammates stunned.

After the explosive practice session, Kohli was seen engaging in a long conversation with the head coach Gautam Gambhir. The two former players of the team exchanged knowledge about batting techniques, with Gambhir explaining the techniques in a lively manner while Kohli listened intently. This engagement highlights Kohli’s commitment to improving his skills as he prepares for the challenges ahead.

Kohli is eyeing another test record of Sachin Tendulkar

As Kohli prepares for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, he stands on the brink of an important milestone. He is 58 runs away from becoming the fastest player in history to reach 27,000 runs in international cricket, a record he holds Sachin Tendulkar. If Kohli does this within his next eight innings, he will surpass Tendulkar’s record of 623 innings to reach the milestone, cementing his status as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of the game.

Adding to this incredible achievement, Kohli is also aiming to become the fourth Indian batsman to score 9,000 runs in Test cricket, joining legendary groups such as Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar again Rahul Dravid. However, it is said that he will walk slowly among them to reach this landmark.

The upcoming Test series against Bangladesh is important for India, not only for Kohli’s milestones but also for the team’s standing ICC World Test Championship. India are currently sitting at the top of the points and are aiming to maintain their good home record, as they have not lost a series at home since 2012. Historically, India have dominated Bangladesh in Test matches, winning 11 and drawing twice in 13 matches.
