In what some see as a sign of Anthony Joshua’s efforts to hold on to his youth, AJ has received the hot treatment ahead of his rumored fight against the young lion, Daniel Dubois, on September 21 at Wembley Stadium.

Joshua will soon blow out the 35 candles on his birthday cake, and this mistreatment of the former two-time heavyweight champion could be seen as a grand attempt to turn back the years.
It’s not uncommon for older fighters to resort to extreme tactics to stay young, but man, this takes the cake. Joshua’s use of hot cupping shows his concern for this fight against Dubois.
It would be a dangerous fight for Joshua even in his mid-20s, but it could be a nightmare for him now. Dubois destroyed 2016 Olympian Filip Hrgovic, wearing down the undefeated fighter for an eighth-round knockout.
If Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) is to face Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) on September 21, he will need to use every trick in the book to reverse aging and bring back the kitten he started his career 11 years ago in 2013 .
It would be interesting to know if Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, recommended a hot mug for AJ to use because he is worried about his golden goose ahead of the September fight day. A lot of money will evaporate if Joshua gets knocked out by the younger Dubois.
Whether it’s Joshua fighting Dubois or fearsome puncher Zhilei Zhang, Hearn could see his #1 ranked fighter retire with a loss.
Is It Time To Retire?
The strange treatment of former champion Joshua may not pay off for the little gun, Dubois, and he will have to face the truth: It’s time to hang up the gloves.
If Joshua chooses to continue his career, he can still make money when he fights Tyson Fury which could be considered a good home run. Even if Usyk defeats Fury in their rematch, a possible match between him and Joshua will still bring in tons of money in early 2025.
Hearn has done his part in trying to rebuild Joshua by matching him with four straight knockouts since his back-to-back loss to Oleksandr Usyk. It wasn’t to fix that. It was just a cover up for years.
