Bader Al-Dherat will headline the Rising Stars event where he will face Orlando Mosquera in Saudi Arabia
Hot-spotted Bader Al-Dherat will face Orlando Mosquera at Rising Stars 4 in a scheduled 10-round bout at the Space 42 Arena Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
Al-Dherat welcomes the opportunity to face the cunning of Panama and does not expect unnecessary problems in their fight.
“I am very happy with the RSA 4 title because it gives me the opportunity to show my skills and work hard,” Al Dherat (10-0, 8 knockouts) told The Ring.
“Mosquera is a quality boxer, I am not denying that, but he has never entered the ring with someone like me. He has no threats but I don’t look down on anyone.”
Part of the vision of Rising Stars of Arabia is to help cultivate and nurture local talent. However, this region has also brought many top events to its country in recent times to accommodate their growing interest.
Al-Dherat appeared on the undercard of Jake Paul-Tommy Fury and Oleksandr Usyk-Anthony Joshua 2.
He said: “The experience was incredible. “I can’t explain it but I felt like I’ve never fought in front of thousands of people and I played well. It just gave me another reason why I’m here inside the squared circle.”
The 23-year-old started boxing in 2012 because of his brother and stuck with the sport.
Although Jordan is not a boxing sensation, Al-Dherat found opportunities as a teenager and represented his country at the 2018 World Youth Championships in Hungary and lost in the semi-finals to Cuba who eventually won the gold medal.
“I always had a motto: “Never give up on your dreams” I had many good and bad times but Allah was with me and he is still with me and guided me,” he said. “I was able to make history for my country at the Youth World Championships and I am still making history!
Al-Dherat is not looking too far into the future but has big plans.
“My goal is to finish Orlando Mosquera because he is standing in front of me,” he explained. “After that I don’t want to spoil the details about my future but you will see me there, insh’Allah!”
The founder of AAM Seddiqi Sports, Ahmed A. Seddiqi, who will promote the event, said “I am looking forward to seeing Bader perform on Saturday. He has improved with each fight and I believe he will be a big part of what we do in the region. He is definitely one to keep an eye on.”
Mosquera (13-2-1, 2 KOs) went professional in 2016. The 25-year-old southpaw suffered his first loss against Jose Nuñez (MD 6) in his fifth fight. A few fights later he fought John Valencia in the sixth technical round when they fought for the Panamanian title.
Seven wins followed, two of those against opponents who had never lost before being stopped by Juan Carrasco (KO 7). However, he is back to winning ways.
The Rising Stars Arabia 4 (RSA4) card will be broadcast live, starting at 8 pm UAEST, on DAZN and ESPN Knockout.
