Bayern Munich have ‘quoted €100m’ in bid to hire a Premier League manager

Bayern Munich made a bid to hire Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner, a report claims, but withdrew after being warned they would need to pay €100m (£86m) in compensation.

Thomas Tuchel will step down from his position this summer and Bayern have spent the last few months battling a number of public rejections, with Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick all turning down a move to Bavaria.

Hansi Flick could still be linked with Bayern but sporting director Max Eberl is now believed to be pushing for Brighton & Hove Albion’s Roberto De Zerbi for the job.

De Zerbi has already publicly insisted he wants to stay with Brighton this summer but Eberl continues to try to convince those on the Bayern board that a move for the Italian should be followed through.

Other options are becoming more difficult to find. Benfica’s Roger Schmidt and Stuttgart’s Sebastian Hoeness have both ruled it out, while the legendary Ruben Amorim has vowed to stay with Sporting CP.
