Chus Mateo was voted by his peers as the EuroLeague Coach of the Year

The Real Madrid coach took his team back to the Final Four with the league’s best record

After guiding Real Madrid to a regular season and 3-0 playoff sweep, Chus Mateo has been named coach of the year for 2023-24 by Alexander Gomelskiy. Mateo’s name appeared in many votes of the head coaches of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, the only ones who voted for this award.

While 17 EuroLeague clubs began the season with the dream of winning the championship, only Mateo’s Real Madrid was challenged with the task of defending it.
