Cristiano Ronaldo is trying to convince Casemiro to join him at Al Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo is trying to convince former team-mate Casemiro to join him at Al Nassr this summer, according to reports.

Ronaldo was left in tears on Friday night as Al Hilal beat Al Nassr on penalties in the King Cup of Champions final, to complete the league and cup double.

By his standards, Ronaldo had another outstanding season as he finished as the top scorer with 35 goals in 34 games.

The Saudi Pro League will invest heavily again this summer, and Al Nassr need to strengthen if they are to close the gap on Al Hilal and win the league title.

Ronaldo wants Casemiro to join him at Al Nassr this summer.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, the former Real Madrid star is trying to persuade Al Nassr to sign Casemiro.

Casemiro struggled for United last season, as he failed to score many goals in his first season at Old Trafford, and was often exposed, especially when he had to fill in at centre-back.

Ronaldo played with the Brazilian in Madrid, won many Champions League titles, and was reunited with Casemiro at Manchester United.

Marca add the five-time Ballon d’Or winner believes the Brazilian will give Al Nassr the consistency they need to keep pace with Al Hilal.

Casemiro is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer, with Saudi appearing to be his most likely destination, with United believed to want around £30m for the 32-year-old.

The report also added that Ronaldo has begun work on convincing former teammate Nacho Fernandez to join him in Saudi.

Marca says the 39-year-old called the Madrid captain last week to try to get him to consider a move to the Middle East.
