Draymond Green Makes Confession About Jordan Poole’s Situation

Almost two seasons have passed since the Draymond Green-Jordan Poole punch and Green admitted how things went down.

Having his own podcast and being a regular trader means that Green talked about it when he beat Jordan Poole many times before the 202-23 season.

But in a rare move, he recently opened up about how embarrassed he was at Poole and how it affected his approach to the team.

“I was very disappointed to be close to our team last year [Jordan Poole] still in [Warriors]. “I was late last season probably 20 times and I just paid the fine,” Green said The Draymond Green Show.

“Because I was so ashamed to show my face at that time that I started planning everything. If we’re on the road, I can time it until the moment I need to arrive. If the elevator took longer than expected, I would be late.”

He also explained how disappointing it was that he couldn’t share in Poole’s success after getting a four-year, $123 million extension with the Dubs through October 2022, as he went from being Poole’s mentor to his enemies.

“When I took JP under my wing, seeing him succeed was the best thing for me,” said Green. “One of the worst feelings I’ve ever had as an NBA basketball player was seeing him get his contract and knowing that I fired him and couldn’t celebrate his contract with him. I think he had a party or something with his folks in San Francisco, and he can go celebrate that too. I finished it.”

Of course, boxing was the beginning of the end for Poole, who endured a season from hell before being traded to the Wizards.

His production declined in Washington, as he averaged 17.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest on 41.3 percent shooting from the field and 32.6 percent from deep in the 2023-24 season. .
