India will host South Africa in a multi-match women’s tour in June-July

India will host South Africa in an all-round women’s tour in June-July. ESPNcricinfo has learned that Bengaluru will host the white-ball leg, starting with three ODIs starting on June 16, while Chennai will host one Test starting on June 28.
Three T20Is will be played after the Test, with a view to ensuring continuity of the format ahead of the T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in Bangladesh in September-October. ODIs will be played on June 16, 19 and 23, T20Is on July 5, 7 and 9.
Six white-ball matches were part of the ICC Women’s FTP. Both the series, along with the tour from New Zealand, were supposed to be played between July and September last year but had to be postponed due to the men’s ODI World Cup and supplies.
One test was not part of FTP. It was a late addition, as part of the CSA and BCCI’s recent campaign to promote women’s Tests.
The tour is also an important step in the BCCI’s mission to take women’s cricket to new venues. Over the past few years, the BCCI has chosen to host teams at multiple venues in Mumbai citing logistical reasons. They broke away from the norm with the WPL earlier this year, with matches held in Bengaluru and Delhi.
