Jermall Charlo Arrested After Crash, Police Pursuit

WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo was reportedly arrested on Tuesday in Texas for fleeing the police, driving under the influence and damaging property.

According to the Daily Mail, Jermall, 33-0, 22 KOs) was released on a $9,500 surety bond on Tuesday. Charlo looked confused in the photo and his eyes looked bright.

Charges Against Jermall Charlo

  • Driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.15 (almost twice the Texas legal limit of 0.08)
  • The absconding policeman is at high risk of SBI (serious offence)
  • Property damage greater than or equal to $200 related to a motor vehicle collision

Incident Details

Jermall was involved in a car accident on Tuesday at 6:41 pm, driving his red Lamborghini Urus. It is said that he then fled the scene after having an argument with another driver.

When police tried to pull over Jermall’s car, he failed to stop. They finally stopped his car and arrested him. Later, he was given a field sobriety test while in custody and his blood alcohol level was 0.15, which was above the Texas limit of 0.08.

Obviously, this is bad news for Charlo, as he is believed to be one of the fighters being considered for the next fight against superstar Canelo Alvarez in September. While it won’t stop Jermall from continuing to get a fight, it doesn’t help.

This potential nominee Canelo is forced to undefeated #1 WBA Edgar Berlanga, who is not on the same level as Jermall in terms of achievements, but he is young, active, and so far, has not gotten into trouble outside of the ring. .

Jermall couldn’t have picked a worse time to get himself in trouble because he would have a good chance to get a fight with Canelo, who is the undefeated super middleweight champion. Since the Mexican star is not willing to take any of the talented players in the 168, it leaves Jermall and Berlanga as the only two.
