Kadioglu transfer: Arsenal eye Fenerbahce left-back

Arsenal are reportedly set to open talks soon over a transfer deal with Fenerbahce defender Ferdi Kadioglu, who could leave for around €30million.

The versatile Turkish international has impressed in recent times, mainly as a left-back, but has the ability to fill in as a winger or midfielder.

According to Takvim, Arsenal will look to negotiate with Fenerbahce in the near future, probably not long after the end of the season, and 30 million euros could be enough to make a deal, although there is also interest from Borussia Dortmund which could make things difficult.

This looks like an interesting saga to watch out for, however, as it makes sense for Arsenal to look for a new left-back this summer after a sub-par campaign from Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Ferdi Kadioglu to Arsenal?

The Ukraine international has yet to live up to expectations during his time at the Emirates Stadium, with Jakub Kiwior and Takehiro Tomiyasu both starting more games than him this season.

The transfer of Kadioglu looks good for Arsenal

In Kadioglu, however, AFC may have found a real upgrade in Zinchenko, while Kiwior and Tomiyasu are perhaps better suited to other positions in the team, and the 24-year-old from Fenerbahce is suited to bring more attacking quality to the left-hand side.

Some Arsenal fans may be looking for a ready-to-go option, with Kadioglu unproven in one of Europe’s big five leagues, but it’s also worth mentioning that the Gunners’ recruitment has been on the rise in recent times.

The likes of William Saliba, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Magalhaes did not look like world-beaters when they joined, and have taken time to settle in, but are now vital to Mikel Arteta’s side.

If Arsenal’s scouts have identified Kadioglu as a good fit, fans should be happy that there could be progress on this upcoming contract soon.
